When seniors think about retiring, many want to find the right beach town. U.S. News & World Report has done an analysis of the locations that offer housing affordability, ease of getting to a beach, moderate taxes, a good job market, and access to quality healthcare.

There are very good options that are on great beaches and provide all the amenities retirees want.  Here are the top 10 beach towns as rated by U.S. News & World Report:

10.  Jacksonville, Florida

 9.  Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

 8.  Pensacola, Florida

 7.  Port St. Lucie, Florida

 6.  Fort Myers, Florida

 5.  Tampa, Florida

 4.  Melbourne, Florida

 3.  Daytona Beach, Florida

 2.  Naples, Florida

 1.  Sarasota, Florida

It’s not surprising that nine of the ten are in Florida, which has been a retirement mecca for many decades. Five of the towns are on the Gulf Coast (Sarasota, Naples, Tampa, Fort Myers, Pensacola), and the other four are on the Atlantic Ocean (Daytona Beach, Melbourne, Port St. Lucie, Jacksonville). Each location offers its own unique character and attractions.

Council of Seniors Wants You to Retire With Few Worries

Extra income can help fund the lifestyle you seek. Here at Council of Seniors, we’re dedicated to getting Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. This bill can make up for inadequate Social Security cost-of- living adjustments (COLAs) in recent years that didn’t keep up with inflation. Once passed, the missing $581, money that’s belonged to you all along, could be coming your way.

Signing our petition today will help us Show Congress how many people support this bill. This issue has been ignored for far too long.
