According to AARP, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to a reassessment of the best places to live and retire.

Working with the AARP Livable Communities Team and the AARP Public Policy Institute that publishes the Livability Index, AARP’s editors came up with 14 data points as the necessary criteria. Here are the towns and cities selected:

  • Cedar Falls, Iowa
  • Idaho Falls, Idaho
  • Jackson, Tennessee
  • Anderson, South Carolina
  • Fort Worth, Texas
  • Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  • Lansing, Michigan
  • Provo, Utah
  • Sioux Falls, South Dakota

The growing opportunities for remote work make these places attractive. A seamless transition from work to retirement without the disruption of moving is worth consideration.

The places picked all have their unique charms, relative affordability, quality health care systems, geographic diversity, and a significant population of retirees.

Council of Seniors Wants You to Get More for Your Money

Here at Council of Seniors, we know Congress must act now to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. More challenging economic times make this bill a must to make up for inadequate recent Social Security cost of living adjustments (COLAs). If it passes, seniors will be reimbursed a shortfall of $581 that they deserve.

Please sign our petition right now! Congress must learn how many people support this bill.
