As people look forward to vacation time, there are some who see it as “me time,” a chance to travel solo and explore new places. Traveling alone brings the independence to set your own schedule without concern for others’ wishes. Travel & Leisure magazine identified American cities, both large and small, as ideal spots for those seeking a great vacation experience and a chance to meet new people.
These locations offer ease of transportation to get around, a variety of lodging offerings, and plenty of unique activities to occupy time. Here are just ten of the best solo travel spots featured:
- Naples, Florida
- Boston, Massachusetts
- Sedona, Arizona
- Charleston, South Carolina
- Nashville, Tennessee
- Portland, Maine
- Carmel-by-the-Sea, California
- Boise, Idaho
- Savannah, Georgia
- Jackson Hole, Wyoming
You can choose the beach or the mountains, and major cities or more charming towns. Wherever you wind up, you’re bound to create wonderful new memories.
Retirement is the Time to Travel and Explore
More retirement income opens the door for travel and fun. Here at Council of Seniors, we’re pushing hard to get Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. Because the annual Social Security cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) has short-changed seniors over a series of years, this bill is a must. If it passes, eligible seniors will be reimbursed the amount of $581.
