Retirement brings new-found freedom, but some may want to pursue a new career, earn extra money, or just regain a sense of purpose. Fortunately, older candidates have much to offer, including valuable experience and desirable skills.
U.S. News & World Report has surveyed possible jobs seniors may enjoy and identified the 10 most likely:
- Clergy
- Tour Guide
- Business Owner
- Maintenance Worker
- Retail Salesperson
- Teacher
- Financial Planner
- Counselor or Life Coach
- Consultant
- Whatever Captures Your Imagination
Those not wanting the commitment of a daily 9-to-5 grind again will find these possibilities provide the flexibility to satisfy their work urge without sacrificing their freedom to enjoy other pursuits or time with family. Each offers a unique attraction and the option to continue it as long as you choose.
Council of Seniors Wants You to Have More Freedom
Having additional money can open doors to new possibilities. Here at Council of Seniors, we’re working hard to get Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. Inadequate annual Social Security cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) withheld the amount of $581 from senior citizens. It’s about time for this money to be put back in seniors’ pockets where it belongs.
Take time now to sign our petition. That’s how you can help us show Congress the growing number of people who support this bill.
