When it comes to choosing a place to retire, active seniors should consider somewhere they can enjoy the fresh air and the great outdoors to stay in top physical shape and health.

A new guide has identified 11 locations that offer that attraction, along with access to affordable housing, good health care facilities, low crime rates, exercise opportunities, and possible employment for those seeking extra income.

Here are the places selected across a wide spectrum of America:

  • Anchorage, Alaska
  • Yuma, Arizona
  • Fort Collins, Colorado
  • Sarasota, Florida
  • Mount Morris, Michigan
  • Hibbing, Minnesota
  • Billings, Montana
  • Mesquite, Nevada
  • Asheville, North Carolina
  • Anacortes, Washington
  • Cody, Wyoming

All these towns are in proximity to either state and national parks, nature preserves, water sports, or fishing. There’s plenty for the outdoorsman or outdoorswoman to enjoy.

Staying physically fit and healthy in retirement has the added benefit of keeping mentally sharp as well.

Council of Seniors Works to Build Better Benefits for You

Here at Council of Seniors, we’re totally dedicated to getting Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. We must make up for insufficient Social Security cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) that haven’t kept up with inflation. Seniors will be reimbursed the missing $581 once this bill passes. That money has belonged to them all along.

Please take time now to sign our petition. Let’s work together to show Washington politicians the growing number of people who support this bill.

We’d love for you to connect with us on Facebook and Twitter!
