Finally leaving the workforce and going into retirement is a huge achievement for so many, but a decent number of seniors in the US have delayed retiring after the whirlwind of the past two years.
Particularly for those who live in areas where the cost of living is extremely high, such as San Francisco, many seniors have worked through the pandemic during a time in their lives when they’re supposed to be enjoying a more relaxed, comfortable lifestyle.
The fact of the matter is, many seniors rely on Social Security as their sole means of income. When you couple that with rising expenses and cost of living, a lot of people can’t afford to support themselves without keeping a job.
You’re Entitled to the Benefits You Were Promised
Council of Seniors is doing everything we can to convince representatives to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. It isn’t right for your hard-earned money to be kept from you. You’ve been denied the fair Social Security cost of living adjustment (COLA) that you were promised as part of paying into the fund during your working years.
And if you’re included in the group of individuals who has been forced to delay retirement because of the pandemic, rising cost of living, or other reasons, it’s even more important for you to receive this money.
We sincerely hope you’ll support our mission to get this bill passed by signing our petition.
