Now that warmer weather has arrived, there are many outdoor activities to keep seniors moving and active without being strenuous.

For some, gardening remains a favorite pastime, as well as leisurely walks in pleasant natural surroundings. Seniors who enjoy birdwatching know it can be done almost anywhere.

More communities are adding facilities to host outdoor theater productions and music concerts. Also, outdoor craft shows and farmers’ markets give seniors the chance to enjoy artistic and culinary creations.

Those in more rural communities find local farms offer the opportunity to come and pick fresh fruit right off the tree or garden patch. Retirees who are handy with a camera can find plenty to photograph outdoors. Beautiful landscapes and wildlife provide endless possibilities for memorable shots.

Finally, what’s more fun than spreading out a blanket on the ground for a picnic? An outdoor lunch in the midst of nature has been a favorite for many since childhood.

Council of Seniors Wants Seniors to Stay Active and Happy

Having extra cash will help you enjoy all of your favorite activities. Here at Council of Seniors, we work tirelessly to get Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. We need this new law to make up for Social Security cost of living adjustments (COLAs) that have been inadequate in recent years. If the bill passes, $581 will be returned to eligible seniors.

Please sign our petition without delay. We need to show greedy politicians how many people support this effort.
