As people get older, they may notice they’re starting to get a little forgetful and their memory may seem a little foggy. Fortunately, there are things you can do to keep your mind and memory sharp. Senior rehabilitation specialists offer positive tips that will benefit your brain and overall physical and mental health.

Here are ways to maximize your mental sharpness:

  • Exercise, eat healthy, and get enough sleep
  • Drink in moderation
  • Avoid stress and stay calm
  • Make new friends
  • Video games can sharpen your abilities
  • Music eases your mind and sparks memories

Another way to keep your mind focused and refreshed is to take on challenging activities.  Playing games like chess will keep you sharp. Learning a new language is another way to improve memory. Board games are fun and stimulating. You can also become an active reader and learn new things.

Council of Seniors Wants Stronger Benefits

You should have the means to enjoy your retirement however you choose. That’s just one reason why here at Council of Seniors, we’re dedicated to getting Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. This bill will help make up for inadequate Social Security cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) that have shortchanged seniors over a series of years. Once passed, the $581 that was withheld from seniors will be returned.

Please sign our petition without delay. Let’s give Washington politicians a wake-up call about how many people support this bill.
