Retirement offers seniors free time to finally see travel destinations on their bucket list. Here are six top destinations for seniors to enjoy this year:

  • U.S. National Parks
  • Disney World
  • Sedona, Arizona
  • Alaska
  • The Pacific Coast Highway
  • Santa Fe, New Mexico

There are more than 2,000 sites designated as national parks. From Death Valley to the Everglades, the choices are endless. Seniors can get an annual pass to all locations for only $20 and a lifetime pass for $80.

Disney World doesn’t offer senior discounts, but deals can be found through organizations like AAA and AARP. A completely different experience is Sedona, located two hours from Phoenix. There, visitors can enjoy birdwatching, hiking, and jeep tours.

Those who seek the Great Outdoors find it in Alaska with 17 national parks. Others enjoy cruises along the Alaskan coast. A leisurely drive on the Pacific Coast Highway can take you from San Francisco and the wine country to the surfing paradise of San Diego.

Finally, Santa Fe offers the best of Western and Native American culture.

Council of Seniors Wants to Make Travel Accessible

If you want to travel in retirement, you need the means to do so. That’s why here at Council of Seniors, we’re working diligently to get Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. The Social Security cost of living adjustment (COLA) in recent years hasn’t provided what you deserve. Once this bill passes, the extra $581 will be returned to seniors.
