More seniors are using online dating sites to end loneliness and meet someone to be a companion. It beats relying on friends to recommend someone who may be totally unsuitable. Experts are convinced online dating can work for older adults who are willing to make the effort.

First of all, it’s not a matter of luck to find someone who fits your needs. All it takes is making the commitment and staying determined even if initial matches don’t work out. Just give it some time and don’t be shy about setting coffee dates to get acquainted.

A key ingredient is having the right attitude and staying positive through the process. Realize your profile is out there competing with lots of other seniors. So, make sure you include info that makes you stand out from the crowd. Photos should present a smiling attractive side without being misleading.

It’s also important to broaden your horizons and be open to considering people who may not match your original standards. There may be a hidden gem you might overlook if you don’t have an open mind.

Council of Seniors Wants Retirement to Be Fulfilling

Here at Council of Seniors, we’re pushing Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. During inflationary times, seniors need all the help they can get.  This bill is designed to make up for Social Security cost of living adjustments (COLAs) that didn’t meet the needs of beneficiaries. With its passage, $581 will be returned to seniors.

Signing our petition is the first step you can take to help.
