If you’re planning a vacation out of the country this spring or summer, you’ll want to be sure to allow ample time to renew your passport if it’s expired.

As you’ll see in this video from NBC News, the State Department is reporting that they’re receiving around 500,000 passport renewal applications each week, due to a surge in post-pandemic travel.

Take a look at the clip to hear more.

It really is incredible just how much the pandemic impacted our lives in a myriad of ways. While things are slowly returning to a more normal state, we really shouldn’t be surprised by these sort of hiccups.

Extra Money Makes Travel Easier

If you’re planning on traveling during retirement, you’ll want to have extra money in your pocket. Here at Council of Seniors, we’re working nonstop to get Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. This bill is needed to make up for the lack of Social Security cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) in several recent years. If it passes, seniors will be reimbursed for $581 that wasn’t paid.

Signing our petition today is the best way you can help us get it passed.
