For senior citizens who choose to age in place but can no longer drive, life can be incredibly stressful not only for them but for their caregivers. Especially if their caregiver doesn’t live nearby or works full-time, it can be tough to figure out logistics for getting seniors where they need to be during the day.
But thanks to a new service called Uber Caregiver, which launched this summer, both caregivers and seniors can rest assured that they can get to doctor’s appointments in a safe and timely manner. With the app, caregivers can easily arrange and pay for rides. The service can also be used to purchase and deliver medical supplies to seniors.
And the best part is it uses the senior citizen’s Medicare health benefits to do so. With just a few minutes and a few clicks, it couldn’t be easier to set up an account and get going. This video from the Today Show explains how the app works:
Your Retirement Should Be Stress-Free
You shouldn’t have to worry about how you’re going to get around during your retirement. However, this is much easier with extra income. Due to inadequate annual cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs), $581 was withheld from seniors’ Social Security checks. That’s why Council of Seniors is committed to getting Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. If this crucial bill passes, that money will finally be returned.
