If you want to spend your retirement in a nature lover’s paradise, you might want to add Washington State to your list. The Pacific Northwest offers both the seacoast as well as incredible mountain ranges. Those who know Washington best have identified what they consider the top 10 locations:

  1. Hoquiam
  2. Union Gap
  3. Sunnyside
  4. Grandview
  5. Clarkston
  6. Toppenish
  7. Aberdeen
  8. Ephrata
  9. Centralia
  10. Airway Heights

The criteria used to select the list included the population aged 65 and up, the median home value, crime rates, and access to medical care. All the towns have median home values at or below $200,000. They offer small-town charm with plenty of activity to keep retirees happy.

Council of Seniors Wants Retirement to Be Fulfilling

Additional retirement income provides a cushion to keep you worry-free. That’s one reason why Council of Seniors believes it’s critical for Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. This bill is designed to make up for inadequate annual Social Security cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) that have short-changed seniors in some recent years. If it passes, the $581 that should have been included in your benefit will be coming your way.
