There are many factors to consider when deciding where to live in retirement. These include quality of life, healthcare, housing, crime, climate, taxes, and cost of living.

The Motley Fool polled 2,000 retirees to find out what matters the most and discovered that quality of life ranked the highest. So, it’s not surprising that their survey ranked Florida as the best state for retirement living, followed closely by California and Texas, with Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Washington, and Georgia rounding out the top ten.

The survey said Hawaii was the worst state to retire in, largely because of the high cost of living and housing.
