As we get closer to winding up 2023 and look ahead to 2024, it’s not too early to think about New Year’s resolutions that can lead to a healthier, improved quality of life. Of course, it takes determination to stick to them all.

Here are the top seven New Year’s resolutions that were recommended for this year. Interestingly, they still give great advice to those who will follow them.

  1. Keep a positive mindset
  2. Commit to 10 minutes of exercise daily
  3. Make better dietary choices
  4. Quit smoking if you already haven’t
  5. Play with your grandkids
  6. Stimulate your mind
  7. Reach out to old friends & make new ones

People fail to keep resolutions when they make them too unattainable. All these commitments can be met by setting aside just a few minutes each day to think about and follow them.

You can create a healthier you in 2024 by staying positive, exercising, eating right, making time for family and friends, and having “me time” to pursue something that gets your mind engaged.

We Hope 2024 is Easier

Extra income in 2024 will help fight inflation. That’s why here at Council of Seniors, we’re pushing Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act as soon as possible. This bill is necessary to make up for inadequate past Social Security cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) that didn’t keep up with inflation. Once passed, the $581 missing from seniors’ benefits can be returned.

Signing our petition without delay is your first step to help. Let’s show Congress the growing number of people supporting this bill.
