As the holiday season arrives, it’s a good time to think about how to make sure loved ones feel included and loved. Families with busy schedules need to make time to get engaged in the holiday spirit, beginning with Thanksgiving.

Gathered Again is an organization that provides guidance on the most fun activities to create interaction between seniors and younger family members. For Thanksgiving, there are a number of popular games that can be adapted to suit the occasion.

Favorites such as bingo, puzzles, charades, word search, and a Thanksgiving dinner game can encourage everyone to join in the fun.

It’s also a good idea to help your family participate in the preparations. Grandparents and grandkids can decorate pumpkins, work on the table arrangements, create a gratitude tree, and carry out simple cooking tasks.

Thanksgiving is the perfect holiday for families to get together and show each other how much they appreciate and love each other.

The Holidays Should Be Special

Council of Seniors keeps pushing Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act and give seniors what they deserve. In order to make up for inadequate past Social Security cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) that didn’t keep up with inflation, this bill is a must. Once passed, eligible seniors will be reimbursed $581, which should have been paid all along.

Take time right now to sign our petition. Let’s show Washington politicians how many people have a sense of urgency about this bill.
