This morning, we learned what Social Security recipients can expect from the 2024 annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA). The percentage was predicted to come in around 3.2 percent, and that’s exactly where it came in.

Compared to last year’s hike of 8.7 percent, this announcement could potentially be a letdown for many. It’s not a significant bump to their benefit. The average monthly increase will be about $54, compared to the $146 for 2023.

You Deserve the Funds You Were Promised

You worked hard for many years and are entitled to every cent owed to you. Here at Council of Seniors, we’re working hard to get Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. As you know, the annual Social Security cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) has shortchanged seniors over a series of years. The amount of $581 was withheld from seniors’ checks. It’s high time this money was returned.

Signing our petition is the first step to take to help us show Congress the growing number of Americans supporting this bill. Your participation can make a real difference in returning this money to seniors.
