Moving from one home to another can be stressful for anyone. It especially can prove taxing for seniors who’ve been in one place for a long time. But you might move to be closer to adult children and grandchildren, relocate to a retirement community, or get to a better climate. Given the many reasons for moving, MarketWatch Guide has examined leading moving companies to determine which might be best for older Americans.

The team looked at a wide range of criteria, including state availability, relocation services, moving assistance, affordability, customer support, and insurance processes

  1. Allied – Convenience
  2. American Van Lines – Long Distance Moves
  3. International Van Lines – Insurance Plans
  4. JK Moving – Financing
  5. North American Van Lines – Easy Claims Process
  6. U-Pack – City-to-City Moves
  7. uShop – Vehicle Shipping

MarketWatch Guide provides an in-depth review of each company, checking all the relevant criteria, and pointing out the pros and cons of each. Obviously, doing your research before taking on such a major life change is well advised.

Council of Seniors Wants to Make Retirement Easier

Here at Council of Seniors, we’re working tirelessly to get Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. This bill is designed to make up for inadequate Social Security cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) that didn’t meet seniors’ needs in some recent years. If it passes, seniors will be reimbursed the $581 missing from their benefit that should have been paid all along.

Signing our petition is the first thing you can do to help. Let’s give Congress the wake-up call they need.
