When it comes to retirement, not many people probably think of Montana as a destination. But those who love the outdoors can find highly attractive small towns worthy of consideration in the Big Sky State. Across the state, there are ample opportunities to indulge in such activities as horseback riding, fly fishing, and skiing. Here are places that offer small-town ambiance where you can get to know your neighbors.

  1. East Helena, just outside the capital of Helena
  2. Dillon, south of Butte
  3. Belgrade, featuring a favorite farmer’s market
  4. Lewistown, the center of Big Sky Country
  5. Choteau, northwest of Great Falls
  6. Whitefish, one of America’s top ski towns

Montana is a wonderful state, and residents welcome newcomers who share their love of four seasons and untamed wilderness.

Council of Seniors Wants to Make Retirement Easier

You should be able to live wherever you want in retirement. That’s just one reason why here at Council of Seniors, we’re working hard to get Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. This bill is designed to make up for inadequate annual Social Security cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs). The amount of $581 was withheld from seniors’ checks, and it’s time for that money to be returned.

Signing our petition is the first step to take to help. Washington politicians need a wake-up call about how many people support this bill.
