In recent times, we’ve been hit with a number of crises that can drain any sense of happiness. COVID-19, inflation, higher prices for basic needs, you name it. All of them combined make it harder to feel happy. But psychologist and author Scott Glassman may have the right prescription to get happier.

He recommends that instead of passively waiting for something to brighten your day, take the initiative to do positive things and flex your “happiness muscle.” It sounds simple, but it can work. Here’s what he advises:

  1. Greet the dawn
  2. Go outside and draw something
  3. Talk to a stranger
  4. Get an ice cream cone with a friend
  5. Smell a fresh towel
  6. Play a kid’s game or the adult version
  7. Try swing dancing
  8. Gaze at a baby or puppy

All of these can brighten your mood and set you on a better path to happiness each day.

Council of Seniors Wants a Brighter Retirement for You

Extra income during retirement will help chase some worries. That’s why Council of Seniors is working hard to get Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. Insufficient Social Security cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) in some recent years makes this bill a must. Eligible seniors will have $581 returned to them if it passes.

Please sign our petition right away! There’s strength in numbers. Let’s show Congress the growing support for this bill.
