Like people of all ages, seniors get especially tired of being cooped up indoors during winter.  They look forward to spring’s arrival, and the opportunity to enjoy a change of scenery.

Here are some special spring activities seniors can use to break free of winter boredom:

First and foremost is to get outside and enjoy nature again. A walk in the neighborhood or nearby park can brighten anyone’s day. For those with porches or decks, being able to eat a meal outside again is something to look forward to.

Decorating with spring or Easter images can lift spirits as well. That will set the stage for family get-togethers again or just having friends or neighbors in for a potluck lunch or dinner.

Those with a green thumb will look forward to getting out in a garden, but they also can bring the outdoors inside by placing plants around the house to add some greenery and color.

Those who’ve been sitting around too long will no doubt notice more clutter accumulating.  That’s the signal to think about spring cleaning. Get the home free of unnecessary items.

It’s an opportunity to weed out old photos and keepsakes along with clothing.

Council of Seniors Wants Seniors to Enjoy the Change of Season

We want you to make the most of spring! Here at Council of Seniors, we believe Congress must pass The SAVE Benefits Act. The passage of this bill can make up for Social Security cost of living adjustments (COLAs) that have let you down in recent years. If it passes, $581 will be returned to eligible seniors.
