When you’re flying, it pays to remember you’re in an enclosed space with lots of other people. Travel experts remind us some things should never be worn on an airplane, which is simply a matter of common courtesy. You should dress for the three C’s: cleanliness, comfort, and convenience. Here are seven taboo things to avoid wearing:
- Open-toed shoes
- Offensive clothing
- Pajamas
- Swimwear
- A single layer
- Bulky jewelry
- Overpowering fragrance
Remember, planes can get pretty chilly once you’re in the air. That’s why it makes sense to wear layers of clothes. Plane bathrooms may not be the cleanest place, as well as plane carpets, so forget those sandals. You also want to ensure you’re wearing footwear that will stay securely on your feet in the event of an emergency.
People from all walks of life are on board, so avoid clothes with political statements. And apply perfume or after-shave in moderation.
You must pass through security to get to the boarding gate, so keep the flashy jewelry in your luggage or carry-on. And while you may like catching a nap when flying, leave the pajamas in your bag and wear something sensible.
We Want You to Thrive in Retirement
Additional retirement income provides seniors with what they need in challenging times. Here at Council of Seniors, we’ve been pushing Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. Due to insufficient cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) in recent years, seniors were short-changed by $581. The passage of this bill will ensure that money is returned.
Please sign our petition without delay. Your participation in our effort can be a game-changer in returning this money to seniors.
