When it comes to retirement, there’s a lot to take into consideration. Fortunately, there are a host of communities across America that can offer retirees a comfortable place to live and settle into their golden years. Cheapism reviewed many possibilities and came up with a range of underrated communities to consider.

Here are 10 of the towns among those selected, in no particular ranking:

  1. Sequim, Washington
  2. Omaha, Nebraska
  3. Greenville, North Carolina
  4. Merritt Island, Florida
  5. Hartford, Connecticut
  6. Ogden, Utah
  7. Florissant, Missouri
  8. Denison Texas
  9. Huntsville, Alabama
  10. Virginia Beach, Virginia

Criteria for selecting the towns included the cost of living, the median home price, and access to quality healthcare. These criteria were compared to national averages. Retirement-focused blogs were reviewed as well to see which communities kept surfacing.

Council of Seniors Wants to Make Retirement Easier

Extra income can make retirement so much less stressful. That’s one reason Council of Seniors is working hard to get Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. You need this bill to make up for inadequate Social Security cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) paid out over a series of years. If we succeed, seniors will be reimbursed the missing $581 that should have been included all along.

Please sign our petition without delay. We’ll greatly appreciate your support in returning this money to seniors.
