Travelers worldwide find certain cities captivate them and make them want to return. A user on the popular social media network Reddit posed a query that produced surprising responses, which was shared by Travel & Leisure.
The question was to name “the most aesthetically beautiful city that never loses its appeal no matter how many times you visit.” The most positive answers centered on five European cities, including some surprises. Instead of tourist favorites like Paris, London, Rome, and others, the strongest support came for these five:
- Florence, Italy
- Prague, The Czech Republic
- Edinburgh, Scotland
- Ljubljana, Slovenia
- Sintra, Portugal
Florence and Prague were in a virtual tie. All the cities feature charming Old World architecture along with green space and spectacular scenery. Florence is well known for its art museums while Prague is bisected by the Vltava River. Edinburgh is a UNESCO Heritage Site featuring historic Edinburgh Castle.
Ljubljana is the nation’s capital that requires no need for a car or public transport. Travelers can walk anywhere. Sintra is a resort town only 40 minutes from Lisbon. All sound perfectly wonderful.
We Want to Enhance Senior Life
Extra retirement income can open the door to travel. That’s just one reason why Council of Seniors is working tirelessly to get Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. Because the annual Social Security cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) has shortchanged seniors in recent years, this bill is crucial. Once it passes, the $581 missing from seniors’ benefits will be returned.
Please sign our petition without delay and tell friends and neighbors we need them, too! Congress needs a wake-up call about the growing number of Americans expecting action on this legislation.
