As we swing into fall, many take advantage of the change of seasons to enjoy the brilliant colors of fall foliage. New England remains a favored spot for leaf-peepers who will find many other attractions to enjoy. USA TODAY has surveyed travel experts to determine the top 10 locations in New England to take in the scenery and also enjoy the best each has to offer vacationers.  Here are their choices:

  1. Gorham, New Hampshire
  2. Kennebunkport, Maine
  3. Amherst, Massachusetts
  4. Newport, Rhode Island
  5. Lenox, Massachusetts
  6. Stowe, Vermont
  7. Litchfield, Connecticut
  8. Hanover, New Hampshire
  9. Bar Harbor, Maine
  10. Hartford, Connecticut

Along with the natural beauty, these locations can provide terrific cultural opportunities along with activities for outdoor enthusiasts. Some may be surprised to find a major city — Hartford — on the list, but the Connecticut state capital has beautiful parks and surrounding natural areas to enjoy.

Get Out and Enjoy Life

Having enough money in retirement can help you enjoy travel. Here at Council of Seniors, we’re working hard to get Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. You need this bill because of insufficient annual Social Security cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs). If it passes, the amount of $581 will be returned to seniors.

Please sign our petition and tell friends and neighbors to help too!  Let’s give Congress a wake-up call about how many people support this bill.
