A U.S. News & World Report article describes the six best foreign locations to retire in homes for less than $100,000.
Belize and the Dominican Republic offer tropical lifestyles on the Caribbean while Colombia and Brazil provide a Latin American experience. Belize has homes near the beach in its Cayo District for as little as $75,000 while a condominium in the Las Terrenas community in the Dominican Republic can be around $90,000.
Those seeking a more urban experience can find it in Bogota, Colombia with its cosmopolitan lifestyle, while a beachfront condo in Fortaleza, Brazil, can be had for less than $70,000.
Across the Atlantic, seniors can enjoy a sunny beach lifestyle in Murcia, Spain, for as little as $100,000 or settle on the north coast of the island of Cyprus for $100,000 or less.
Each of these locales offers its own culture and lifestyle that will require some adjustment. But each has a growing population of expatriates to make the transition easier. With proper research and even an inspection trip, the rewards may be worth the effort.
Council of Seniors Needs Your Support to Benefit Seniors’ Income
Seniors who’ve worked to build their retirement savings deserve the extra income Council of Seniors is working to secure through The SAVE Benefits Act. This legislation is designed to make up for the Social Security cost of living adjustment (COLA) that wasn’t received by seniors over a series of years. If passed, they’ll be reimbursed $581, money that’s belonged to them all along.
By signing our petition, together we will show politicians in Washington the strong support for this bill. We’ll truly appreciate your help in making this effort succeed.
