Seniors looking to retire near the water may not desire an ocean location. But they could find just the right spot near a beautiful lake. There are communities that cater to adults 55+ that feature lakes with all the activities that come with them.

There’s more to living near a lake than just boating, fishing, and swimming. More active adults may enjoy canoeing or kayaking, plus finding a location free of power boats and jet skis. For those with boats, these communities may offer nearby marinas, boat slips, and boat launch facilities.

Here are five communities that feature the best in lakeside living:

  • Crosswind at Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Georgia
  • Del Webb at Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia
  • Trilogy at Lake Frederick in Lake Frederick, Virginia
  • Frisco Lakes in Frisco, Texas
  • Royal Harbor in Tavares, Florida.

Council of Seniors Wants to Preserve and Improve Benefits

Economic ups and downs can be especially tough on retirees. That’s why here at Council of Seniors, we’re working night and day to get Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. We need Congress to enact this bill now to make up for the Social Security cost-of-iving adjustments (COLAs) that haven’t kept up with inflation. If we can get it passed, $581 will be returned to seniors.

Sign our petition without delay so we can show Washington politicians the need for this bill.
