Are you still waiting on your third stimulus check and wondering when it’ll show up? You might need to head to your accountant. Some Social Security recipients and others still waiting to receive their stimulus checks are encouraged to file their 2020 tax return as soon as possible.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, those who haven’t gotten the initial $1,200 or second $600 economic impact payment can file for a recovery rebate credit that’s been added to Forms 1040 or 1040-SR of the 2020 tax return. The Social Security Administration announced that once the return is processed, the missing payments will be mailed.

No More Money Should Be Withheld From You

If you haven’t yet gotten your stimulus check, you’re likely frustrated, since it’s money you’re entitled to. Your promised Social Security benefits are no different.

You worked hard for so many years, and as part of your Social Security income, you should’ve received an adequate cost of living adjustment (COLA). That’s why Council of Seniors is pushing Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. The proposed law is designed to make up for the COLA that was not received over a period of years. Once passed, seniors will be reimbursed $581, money that has belonged to them all along.

Please sign our petition to show politicians in Washington how many people back this bill. The support of people like you is critical in returning this money to seniors.
