If you’re looking for a state that’s retiree-friendly, you might want to consider heading to Arizona – and not just to the major cities of Phoenix and Tucson. There are actually nine small cities very popular with retirees throughout the state.
All of them offer a range of outdoor activities associated with Arizona. At the very western end of the state, Lake Havasu City offers terrific boating and fishing as well as the actual landmark London Bridge.
Across the state, south of Tucson, retirees have discovered the charm of Green Valley, with lush golf courses and the unusual Titan Missile Museum.
To the southeast is Apache Junction, situated at the base of the Superstition Mountains with many hiking trails.
West of Phoenix is the all-seniors community of Sun City, while north of Scottsdale is Cave Creek, with a unique Frontier Town.
Those seeking more remote locations will find what they’re looking for in Prescott, located in the Prescott National Forest. Also north is the renowned Sedona, with its red rock formations and charming downtown. Other smaller towns are Cottonwood along the Verde River and Payson, a mountain city on the Mogollon Rim.
Seniors Deserve a Security Retirement
Because seniors deserve the most out of retirement, Council of Seniors is working to convince Congress to pass The SAVE Benefits Act. Seniors need this bill to make up for $581 that was withheld due to insufficient annual Social Security cost of living adjustments (COLAs).
You can help support this bill if you sign our petition today.
